Sea Dog TV International Pty Ltd is an experienced television production company based in Perth, Western Australia.  The Company was established in 2007 by Leighton and Jodie De Barros with the primary focus of expanding relationships within the television industry and producing high quality documentary programs. We have an extensive production history in factual programming, including natural history, wildlife and science.  Pushing the boundaries of film-making, the company makes programs that are unique, innovative and entertaining, while educating and inspiring audiences. 

Some of our major productions are the Hello Birdy factual entertainment series for ABC TV, starring well known actor William McInnes. Natural History/Wildlife documentary, The Search for the Ocean’s Super Predator for ABC TV, Al Rayyan TV, Smithsonian Channel, NHK and National Geographic Channel. Wildlife documentaries,  On a Wing and a Prayer for ABC TV and Whale Patrol for ABC TV and National Geographic Television International.

Jodie De Barros began her career in documentary filmmaking in 2007 when she established Sea Dog TV International based in Perth, WA with partner Leighton De Barros. Jodie has over 24 years experience in accounting, business and finance and is responsible for the financial and business affairs side of the business, along with executive producing, line producing and production accounting. Jodie has gone on to produce several wildlife/natural history documentaries, including Whale Patrol for ABC TV and National Geographic TV International, On a Wing and a Prayer for ABC TV, The Search for the Ocean's Super Predator for ABC TV, Al Rayyan TV, Smithsonian Channel, NHK and National Geographic Channel. With the most recent being factual entertainment series Hello Birdy for ABC TV with presenter William McInnes.

Four-time Emmy Award nominee Leighton De Barros has over 25 experience in the television industry, specialising in documentary filmmaking, as a producer, director, writer and cinematographer. He has won more than 15 industry awards and worked on many films broadcast by Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and National Geographic, and has international clients including Survivor (CBS America) and the BBC Natural History Unit. In 2007 Leighton established Sea Dog TV International with partner Jodie De Barros and has gone on to produce, direct, write and shoot several documentaries, including the well rated The Search for the Ocean's Super Predator for ABC TV, Al Rayyan TV, NHK, Smithsonian Channel and National Geographic Channel, Hello Birdy a factual entertainment series for ABC TV with actor William McInnes, Shark Bay, Whale Patrol, and On a Wing and a Prayer for ABC TV and National Geographic.

Showrunner Productions Australia

Showrunner Productions is a wholly owned subsidiary of the publicly listed agency, Adcorp Australia. We produce factual and drama series for the international markets, as well as local stories and concepts for Australian broadcasters. Our team is highly experienced and motivated to produce quality television in an ever changing market.

Ray is currently Executive Producer at Showrunner productions one of Australia's most exciting production companies. Current projects include the format 'Wimp 2 Warrior', the factual series '72 Dangerous Animals Australia', 'GT Hunters' and '72 Dangerous Places to Live'. Previous credits as EP include the serie 'Can We help' (ABCTV), Aristos (Nine), 'Just Add Water (Nine) and 'Lily's View' (GZTV China). Ray has produced hundreds of hours of broadcast TV. Roger is a Development Producer at Showrunner Productions and has 15 years television production experience. Previous positions have included Commercial Production Manager and Producer/Director at Channel Nine. Projects completed include Just Add Water, Tom Hoad Cup International Water Polo program for International broadcast & Bon Scott documentary for Channel Nine.

Formed in March 2011, Triptych Pictures slate encompasses television, feature film and multi-media projects, with the development and production of factual and drama television series forming the cornerstone of the company’s vision. Coming from diverse yet related backgrounds, the Triptych producers bring a wealth of production experience and knowledge to the table, each having worked in the industry professionally for over 15 years, ideally situating the company for domestic and international co-production opportunities.

Producing credits include feature films, Boxing Day, Lucky Country, The Babadook (Sundance 2014), The Dead Speak Back, Touch, with co-producing credits on Shut Up Little Man! an Audio Misadventure (Sundance 2011) and One Eyed Girl; factual television series producing credits include mY Generation (2008 SBS), Croc College (2013 ABC1) and Jillaroo School (2014 ABC1), as well as the multi-media multi-platform project Stasis, currently in the first stage of production.

Julie Byrne has worked in the film and television industry for 20 years in a variety of roles, predominantly as Production Manager. Since 2010 she has co-produced the SAFC FilmLab features Shut Up Little Man! An Audio Misadventure (dir. Matt Bate) which premiered at Sundance 2011 and released theatrically in the USA and Ursula Dabrowsky's horror film Inner Demon. Julie is producer of the mystery thriller Touch and the bold surrealist mystery The Dead Speak Back. She is also producing, with Jennifer Jones, the short film Injury Time, directed by Jack Sheridan and starring David Field.

Following an early career in orchestral management in the UK, Jennifer Jones returned to Adelaide in 1999 and completed a BCA(Screen) at Flinders University. Jennifer has worked extensively in the film industry, from Locations Scout to Line Producer, from the Bollywood extravaganza Love Story 2050 to Scott Hick's The Lucky One, as well as television work on McLeod's Daughters and The Fairies. In recent years Jennifer has concentrated on producing and has recently completed co-producing a low budget feature film, One Eyed Girl, through the SA Film Corporation's FilmLab program, and producing a 6 x 1/2 hour factual series, Jillaroo School, for ABC1. Work is currently in progress on Stasis, a multi-platform/multi-media science fiction project.

In 2007, Kristian produced the feature film, Boxing Day, with writer/director, Kriv Stenders. The film was screened at over 20 international festivals and won the 2007 ADG Finders Award. Kristian reunited with Kriv for Lucky Country (2009) and produced the feature film The Babadook (2013). Kristian has produced an AFC short feature, The 13th House (2003) and award winning short films The Bully (2009) and The Moment (2011). For television, Kristian was a series producer on mY Generation (2008) and was executive producer of two 6 part factual entertainment series for ABC1; Croc College (2012) and Jillaroo School (2013).

Gemma studied an Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media at M.A.P.S Film School in Adelaide, graduating in 2012. Her first year at M.A.P.S was both rewarding and successful with her film A Dance in the Garden Reminds Me winning a Silver ACS (Australian Cinematography Society) Award in the Student category, as well as winning the MRC SASA Award for Best Non Narrative Film in 2012. In 2013, Gemma worked both on and off set on various high profile projects including Rolf De Heer's Charlie's Country and Channel 9 TV Movie Schapelle. Her strong focus on art and design and her passion for documentaries informs her practices and collaboration with other filmmakers and artists, who share a similar vision. Finding new ways to express ideas in film and above all being an innovative storyteller with honesty and integrity are core to Gemma's development as an emerging filmmaker.
